Broken Rip Track List
« on: August 16, 2013, 05:52:47 pm »

When I prepare to rip a disk the displayed track list is not the neat text list with check boxes I used to get.  Instead the rip screen displays large, widely spaced track names with empty thumbnails on the left.  No check boxes, so I can't select which tracks to rip.  I've clicked, toggled, and fussed with every option I can think of, but no change.  The Wiki instructs users to click on "Details" in the Action Window to the left side of the screen.  I've done that, but I still can't get the track list/check boxes I used to get.  I've even tried re-installing JRiver, but no change.
Anybody have any suggestions?

The rip file list is a File List.  Go to the top of the view's tab, and select Columns > Presets > Audio.

Now cycle through the list styles with Ctrl-U until you get back the normal items.

I have my own Ripping columns preset I use, since there are fields I always want to fill before a rip so that the values carry forward to both the ripped tracks and the audio CD info MC retains.

Thanks, MrC.  Worked like a charm.

Great!

A nice feature addition would be a Preset entry: "Reset default columns for this view".

Agreed.  I use a complex piece of software to set up my dac and it comes with a "return to factory settings" button.  I can't tell you how many times I've had to use that after tangling with far too many settings I should have left alone in the first place.
