Hmmm...  Interesting...  A couple of days ago, I saw this, and started thinking...

The problem with such things is that JRiver most likely has a plan, and that plan is unlikely to change just because you offer them pocket money.
The only way to get more traction on these features would be to actually get more hands on the product, and if you can raise that kind of money? :)

But maybe there is some good news soon!

Now there is a 'visitor' at JRiver today, and that visitor seems to be comfortable enough to take off his shoes while working at an 'extra' desk in the JRiver studios.  There are also 2 German cars in the background of the photos above (I think the Audi belongs to Matt, which is why I like him so much :))

So, I started looking around, and I believe the photos below are of the same person, but a few years apart.  If correct, I think there might be some VERY good and interesting news soon :)

Hey! I wasn't warned about the NSFW language that appears on some of those photos. I am soooo offended. What if it had been someone's mother who had accidentally zoomed in 300% on the apparel to read the slogan?

Yup - a favourite of mine. Dawkins was a friend of my PhD supervisor, and I've always loved his books.

New red person?

The red person always gets slaughtered shortly after showing up in a scene.  Run, nev, run.

We need more photos.

I had a very nice visit with the guys today, though too short...

Now, we're looking for a good place downtown to have dinner and a beer.  Any suggestions from the JRiver folks?  Our only rules are:

1. Walking distance from 11th St downtown (basically near JRiver).
2. Reasonably kid-friendly (we have a 2 1/2 year old with us).

Hmmm, lot's of choices...
Great Microbrew pub/restaurant at 7 corners (a little NorthEast of the Dome) called Town Hall, they have excellent burgers recommended by Matt.
I used to take my son there when he was little lots of times.

Added (in case your daughter likes Root Beer): Town Hall makes their own Root Beer and will do them in floats too.

What sorcery is this?
JRiver MC is just a piece of software. Yet I feel envious of glynor for being there with you guys.

Conclusion:
JRiver MC is clearly not just a piece of software to me any more. :)

Might be walkable - Glucks or Kierans. Both are near the Target Center. Many other restaurants in the same area.

I had thought that was glynor on the right of the photo, but the context was wrong: a) what's he doing in Minnesota? and b) I don't recognize him w/out a steak flapping out of his mug.

It was really fun meeting Hendrik and Glynor.

Hendrik played ABBA loud on his laptop speakers the entire time he was in the office.  It must be a European thing.

a) what's he doing in Minnesota?

Happy coincidence, actually.

My wife's family (quasi-distant, a great-aunt) has a family cabin on Ten Mile Lake and we went out for a week-long vacation with the family.  The cabin was actually a bit closer to Fargo, but the plane tickets were roughly equal in price and, well... I had a reason to visit Minneapolis.

I really enjoyed getting to visit with everyone.  I'd actually met Jim once before, briefly at a NABShow a few years back, but never anyone else.  And it was a very happy surprise to get to meet Hendrik too (though Jim let the secret out of the bag a bit early, so I anticipated it).  And, as far as having something hanging out of my maw... There was a bratwurst there, but Jim thankfully waited till that was done before snapping the pictures.  We saw the interesting building, and I distracted them from getting any work done on Friday afternoon (so sorry if there was no build that day).  I even got a personal tour of the mill district and Nicolet Island from Jim, which was cool.  And later, we got to enjoy a nice dinner with Bob, at the Loon Cafe (recommended by Jim above).  Well, I enjoyed it anyway.  My wife and the two year old were less impressed with our geek-talk, I suspect.  But it was great (and there was beer, so that helps).

Minnesota was, unsurprisingly, a LOT like Maine.  Almost the same climate, foliage, and landscape... Only a lot flatter and with more people.  Minneapolis was a great city.  Very bicycle friendly, and there were tons of parks everywhere (including an amazing free zoo that my daughter really enjoyed).  A great time was had by all.

Apparently one needs to protect his MC Media Network with a username/password, or Matt starts playing his own favorite music through your laptop all the time..... :)

I also had a lot of fun, was great meeting everyone.

Thanks for the mini review. My wife is considering running a marathon there next year, and I have a friend in Duluth as well. I might drop Matt and Jim et al a line if we go to visit. Nice to know about the zoo and the bike friendliness.
