MC doesn't recognize handhelds
« on: August 26, 2013, 11:51:58 am »

I've  had this problem for years. MC--I've tried 4 versions plus a couple of Jukeboxes--does not recognize handhelds attached to my computer.  On rare occasions, I did get recognition, but that was fleeting. I've gone through all the usual instructions, and search Help and forum,.  Any suggestions?
Thanks

Maybe a "security" program?

If you can see a device in Windows Explorer, it should show up in MC under Handhelds.

Might also help to know what type of handheld it is.  Is it an android device?

I've had this happen too, where Windows 7 x64 recognizes smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S2) when connected but Media Center just balks. Sometimes switching usb slots will jar it from its reverie ... mostly not. I hope this can be fixed.

this has happened to me in the past, you can try going to Settings > Handheld and clear all device settings, then reconnect the device..?
