DLNA Volume Level
« on: August 24, 2013, 03:14:08 pm »

MC 19.29 is playing at 50 % of level of v18 with same settings. I have read various posts about reimporting library but this is same on new rips. Increaing amp volume does not seem to help as sound is very thin. I have reverted to v18 until this is resolved.

Try installing the latest version. There was a bug which may have been causing this:

19.0.31 (8/22/2013)
2. Fixed: Volume Leveling could be applied when playing to a DLNA device, even if it was turned off in Options > Media Network.

v19.31 restored volume level for one day only but now back to muffled sound - like listening to neighbour's stereo through the wall.
I have updated to v19.32 but makes no difference.
Rewound to v18 and volume level is back to normal.
All settings identical between versions.
Obviously some volume compression going on with v19 but how do I stop it?
Not just a matter of volume as sound quality is compromised too.

Describe your DLNA setup.

Streaming at 24/96 Wav with all DLNA options checked in MC 19 over Ethernet Powerline to Chord Electronics DSX 1000 renderer and via Dlink router. I am running with System Volume as per MC 18 but disabling this makes no difference.

Strange... I can confirm the problem seems to be back in the latest build.  We'll look into it.

EDIT: I take that back, it seems to be working correctly.  Make sure volume leveling is turned off from the DLNA server configuration.  [Tools > Options > Media Network > Add or Configure DLNA servers... > Audio > Advanced > "Volume Leveling"]
Phew, that's a long path.
