Gizmo
« on: August 31, 2013, 02:05:53 pm »

Awesome to hear about the two Gizmo improvements, both of which should make 3G/4G library browsing much faster (I've found it unbearably slow).

1. I've also read that Gizmo will cache playlists, ie. the music itself, in this release. Just wondering around when this is expected?

2. On that note, I'd love it if Gizmo didn't limit itself to caching just the upcoming playlist. I think there should be a user-definable cache for everything that has already been played. I hate paying bandwidth to replay the same song that I listened to yesterday.

3. Also wondering if there are any plans to server-side cache the mp3 conversions, so that Gizmo doesn't have to wait for "preparing" on each download. I know that handheld sync has user-configurable conversion caching. Perhaps this could leverage the same mechanism.

Thanks!!

You can try the new Gizmo with local cache and read-ahead buffering here:
