Dear members,
in spite of my very bad English, I post a very urgent question I've posted in the german forum before, but without a helpful idea.

I tag my mp3-Files with just bought MC18. Among others I also fill the fields "orchestra", "Producer", "Custom" or "Notes". In the last I save all the important tag-infos as a String.

Now happens very strange things:
In many hundred files the text of the following fields is changed into other Strings:
"orchestra" becomes "rchestra; ; ; ; "
"Producer" becomes "RODUCER"
"Custom" becomes "ustom; ; ; "
"Notes" becomes "otes; ; ; ; ; ;"
The number of ";" varies - perhaps depending from the length of the original text.

In the yesterday evening I deleted these wrong tags, and today there are again 48 changed tags only in the field orchestra; in other fields there are totally many more mistakes.

Now I'm very frustrated, because it takes very much time to repair all the mistakes.
Especially annoying with mp3s from online-stores, because I don't know the lost infos anymore.

So I ask for helpful ideas. Do You know this problem?
(I've already reloaded a backup in a new created database. Without success.)

You can undo tag changes.

I'm not sure what is causing this to happen though.

Please open the jpg in the attachment. You see some wrong tags. Always the first Letter is missing.

The Undo-Function is not helpful, because I'm permanently ripping Music from my CDs and don't detect changes immediately.

Which version of MC is this?  There was a problem fixed like this for WAV files back in:

18.0.104 (12/31/2012):

1. Fixed: WAV files created by other programs (like WMP and others) containing tags in the RIFF header could be imported with garbled tag values.

It happens with the actual version of MC18.
I only use additionaly MP3tag, but the mistake occures also with files, that were not edited by mp3tag.

P.S.: I will tomorrow have to look for "RIFF header" and garbled tag values (no it's 1 o'clock).

What is the full MC version you are running, was the question.  It would be like 18.0.xxx.
