A total newbie question!
« on: September 08, 2013, 06:26:22 am »

I have an HTPC connected to my A/V receiver and TV as the main living room hub, I have a notebook computer that I use for day to day work, now I would like to run JRiver on the notebook and control the music library that sits on the HTPC and have it played through the A/V receiver. Is that possible? In other words, I want to use the notebook as remote control.

Thanks for any replies.

What media software are you running on the HTPC?

In that case, use Library Server.  See the wiki entry.  You'll connect with your laptop to the HTPC's library, and control it via your laptop.
