New to MC video. Why only stereo audio on playback?
« on: September 17, 2013, 12:45:55 pm »

Setup :

new AsRock Pro 4 MB EVGA GTX 670 pc.
Yamaha AVR
Panasonic TV
5.1 speakers
pc sound default set to PanasonicTV0-1 NVIDIA HDMI WASAPI
MC19 Audio device set to same above.  Video set Red October HQ.

When I play a DVD disc video fine & stereo audio fine.
However when I choose 5.1 audio from the DVD menu I still get stereo.
Is it because I have no Yamaha audio sound choice with everything on?

How can I hear the 5.1 track?

Thanks

Welcome.

In DSP Studio > Output Format, select the number of speakers you have (probably 5.1).

That did it!  Thanks.

I turned Bitstreaming option to HDMI and that works too.  Does this setting override the DSP Studio options?

When bitstreaming engages, it automatically disables any DSP or volume handling.
