Hi all
Just took the plunge and purchased Media Centre 19 for Windows and having some issues with importing music albums. I'm quite inexperienced with setting up new software for my computers. My previous computer music was handled by iTunes on a MacBook Pro. That was a long way from perfect but I could generally make it behave according to my wishes ... not so JRiver on my Windows laptop. I realise that JRiver will be a far better solution in the long run ... but it's obviously going to require a lot more computer savvy than I currently have.
The issues:
Several albums that I have recently imported are displayed as a single group titled "Multiple Artists". That's fine in that those individual albums are indeed by multiple artists ... but this behaviour is not consistent ... some other multiple artist albums are displayed alphabetically (by main artist or the first artist mentioned) within the main library group. Which is how I would prefer things to happen. I just find it a whole lot easier to visually scan all of my music in a single display of albums listed alphabetically by artist. I could control this quite easily in iTunes simply by renaming the album artist/artists field inside iTunes ... or even renaming via the Mac operating system.
Which brings me to another issue:
Renaming outside JRiver via Windows 7 does not seem to be recognised ... and ... When trying to rename artist/album within JRiver (right clicking on the album) the rename option is blanked out.
Any assistance would be most gratefully accepted.
