Hi,
I'm trying to figure out proper settings for my 43" plasma with native resolution of 1024x768 (it has non-square pixels) and I don't see a "perfect" yet. I'm in the process of selecting media center software for my HTPC, so I saw how it's done in other systems.
In Windows Media Center and in Plex you can set resolution and then visually tune aspect ratio and overscan (they show triangles in corners). After that they switch to this resolution always (they only have Theater-mode) regardless of desktop settings.
With MC 19 for now I've found the only way forward is to set nonstandard resolution for Windows desktop.
If I leave desktop at standard 1024x768 resolution, then:
* I can't have proper aspect ratio automatically set for newly watched movies. I can set this on per-movie basis in OSD (go to Aspect ration, Crop black bars to 2.35), but I don't see how to apply this setting globally
* When I have audio played, background images and album artwork are shown without aspect ratio adjustment.
Is there any "proper" way to configure MC 19 for non-square pixel displays, so once I switch to theater view aspect ratio conversion is applied globally?
