loading windows library into MC for Mac
« on: October 03, 2013, 09:09:19 am »

Hi everyone,

I have just loaded MC19 onto my Mac.

I have a drive (lets call it M drive) on my windows machine and in my Mac I can see this drive. All the Lac media files are stored on the M drive.

I also have a library on my windows machine and I would like to see the identical library on my Mac.

How do I do this?

How do I either export my MC19 library and get my Mac to read it from the M drive?

Many thanks for your help on this.

If your Mac can see that drive just point the Mac's MC19 to that drive and import.  That's it!

can I ask, how do I point it to that device?

I can import all the flac files but the library is all messed up.  Some of the files seem to have been copied onto my local mac drive into my itunes folder, which I do not want to do.

thanks for your help on this.

Media Center doesn't copy any of your media files, but it may have run an auto-import which scans certain folders on your Mac's hard drive and finds your media.  You can configure auto-import to only scan the folders you are interested in (File / Library / Import / Configure Auto-Import).
