Jim,
If you have to go backwards a version you may have to remove your settings...

You can mv the .jriver folder in your home directory and start over. I'm not sure restoring from a backup library works yet but you could try that as well.

Ubuntu Release 12.04 (precise) 64-bit, Kernel Linux 3.2.0-54-generic

If I delete the ~/.jriver directory I get a window showing the expiry date and then it errors - same error with free() as in my previous post. Just posting this for your information...

tlcmd:
As far as I can tell, none of the new MC19 releases for Linux are really working. I realize building MC in the Linux format is a challenge. But when is the next build due out? Really looking forward to getting away from Windows. Thank J Rives for your work on getting a version for Linux.

A build specifically for ubuntu is not on the immediate horizon.
We need to evaluate no SSE versions going forth as well.

There is a new build to try:

This one has been playing continuously on my home Debian Wheezy linux box for 3 days. Window positioning still seems odd. Full screen works well.

We'll check the stability in a ubuntu bottle and perhaps a tar.gz file the way firefox does for non-targeted platforms is a possibility.
