JRiver Media Center 19.0.53 NOSSE for Debian

I'm sticking with previous version which works with xubuntu x64 13.04, after fiddling with the deb control file. Anyway, how do I register or where should I put the serial manually to register media center?

It's not necessary at this time, but will be in a future version.  These early versions have a hard timeout in 30 days.  When it happens, you'll need to get a new build.  This may happen several times.

Playing anything from the tree also results in segfault.
Back to build 52.

How did you get it working with Fedora? I am using Fedora 18 (32bit) (maybe thats the problem your using 19). I loaded the following RPMS.

--- Code: ---libX11-1.5.99.901-3.20130524gita3bdd2b09.fc18.i686
libX11-common-1.5.99.901-3.20130524gita3bdd2b09.fc18.noarch
libcurl-7.27.0-12.fc18.i686
lame-3.99.5-1.fc18.i686
libXdmcp-1.1.1-2.fc18.i686
libXau-1.0.6-4.fc18.i686
libxcb-1.9-3.fc18.i686
glibc-2.16-34.fc18.i686
--- End code ---

When I start jriver I always get a seg fault right away. Looks like this

--- Code: ---[root@f18build /]# /usr/bin/mediacenter
JRiver install path (process: 1850): /usr/lib/jriver/Media Center 19/
CJRSharedToolsHelper::AuthenticateJRSharedLib
JRFileSystem::GetDirectoryAppdataCommon
CJRSharedToolsHelper::AuthenticateJRSharedLib
JRFileSystem::GetDirectoryDocuments
JRFileSystem::GetDirectoryDesktop
JRTools checking thread
CJRSharedToolsHelper::AuthenticateJRSharedLib
CJRSharedToolsHelper::AuthenticateJRSharedLib
JROs -- analyze operating system
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

--- End code ---

RemyJ:
It's probably the fonts...

Do a
# yum list *font*75* *75*font*
and install the ones you're missing.

To be safe, run the following and make sure there are no missing libraries
# ldd /usr/src/mediacenter
# find /usr/lib/jriver -name '*.so' -print0 -exec ldd '{}' ';'

JimCo06:
 I am a total Linux noob.  I installed Ubuntu 13.04 64 bit as a dual boot on my desktop just to play with and see what all the fuss was about (wow! command line, the 70's all over again, sorry).  I purchased the Linux version of MC and have been playing with it.  After a lot of playing around with 19.0.52 I was able to get it installed and working in spite of getting a couple of errors during installation.

If I use the Package Manager I get an error saying "Dependency is not satisfiable: libcurl3:i386 (>= 7.26)". If I try
    sudo apt-get install libcurl3:i386
It tells me that I already have the latest version installed.  When I try the command line
     sudo dpkg -i MediaCenter-19.2.52.deb
I get an error telling me that "dependency problems prevent configuration of mediacenter: xfonts-75dpi (>= 1:1.0.3) Please note the exact version in the parenthesis. I previously downloaded and installed the xfonts and if I try reinstalling them I am told that I already have the latest version installed.  Is it possible that the extra "1:" is preventing the installation program from recognising that I have the correct version, 1.0.3, installed?

Again even with these errors I was able to get 19.0.52 to run.  It was a little flaky but it played all of my music perfectly.

I then tried to update to 19.0.53 and I got the same exact errors.  This time I was not able to beat it into submission.  I tried to roll back to 19.0.52 and as yet have not been able to get it to work again.  I keep getting the same errors.

Has anyone else had an issue with libcurl3:i386 and found a solution?
Has anyone else had the issue with xfonts-75dpi not be recognized and found a solution?

Thanks.

Looking forward to getting this running reliably because it sounded great.
