Yes continue doing this -- a complete reinstall sounds a bit heavy to me. I think it would be a good thing to send in the log if you haven't already. Could be a registry issue.
Now, I don't understand everything in jriver logs but I looked at yours, and maybe your autoimport is hanging on something ... if you are autoimporting with analyze audio checked (which by your log looks like is the case) and it couldn't analyze the file it would maybe loop and crash ??
Ok long shot here but maybe try turning auto import off from Options=>Library and Folders. Close the program down with task manager if you have to and restart jriver... can't hurt anything to try
