Running 18.0.212, SSD for OS, internal sata for music, dedicated PC music server. Auto Import is chosen to run in the background.
The only way I can close JRiver is via Task Manager. If I delete the existing library and then let JRiver build a new one, everything works fine for a short while.
If I uncheck Auto Import, I never have a problem.
Am I correct in assuming that I probably have corrupt files in my Library?
If so, how can I find it / them ?
The only way I can figure out is to copy all my files to another folder on the drive that holds all the music files.
DO NOT point JRiver to import this folder.
Start to move files to the folder that is watched for Auto Import, and wait until the problem occurs.
I have un-installed and re-installed JRiver, but the problem persists.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt you have a corrupt library -- if you had you would have a lot more problems just running jrmc as a player

Could you check a couple of things? Don't move your files around just yet

Turn off autoconfig to run in the background first.

Go File=>Library=>Import=>Configure Autoimport

What is the complete path or paths indicated? What tasks do you have checked?
Now check to see that the path or paths are an exact match in explorer
Try unclicking analyze audio if you have this checked

Click on this path or paths and click edit
are you doing any special tagging? have you excluded anything?

If you are networked and you mapped the drives lets say to Z:\Music  but the physical path is D:\Music make sure that the Z:\path is shown not the D:\ (they will both work but ...)

I have found that jriver hanging for me is caused most often by a process that makes it "loop" and get stuck.  If it can't do something, like analyze audio for example, its going to keep trying instead of skipping the file it can't analyze -- say a video file "mistagged" as audio media as an example. 

If autoconfig is not configured you would get a warning box that says you can't shut the program down until the process is finished. All you have to do is stop whatever and it will shut down. In automode you won't see this.
