SACD iso layer selection.
« on: October 20, 2013, 11:02:07 pm »

How do I select which layer of the sacd iso is being played? 2 Channel or multi-Channel?
When I play an sacd iso disk that I have the horns sound very distant as though it is playing only the front channels of the multi Channel layer. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ron

All layers are imported into MC when you bring in a SACD ISO.  Look at the 'Channels' field in MC to play only the channel configuration you want.

Also, remember you can use Audio Path to view the input, processing, and output formats:

Hi Ron,

It has previously been requested that MediaCenter emulate an SACD player by having a setting that would have "Play Stereo Only, Play MultiChannel Only, Play Both" just as one has a slide switch on an SACD player.

But that is not a feature that has been implemented.

Since Multichannel SACDs have the same tracks repeated twice, then if you do nothing, each track will be played twice.

The workaround is to use "Views" and "Rules" to emulate the switch.  You will need to read the Wiki and search the MC18 forum to get the appropriate info.  If you have problems, feel free to ask here.

This is not by any chance Paavo Järvi & Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Symphony No.5 in C Minor, Op.67 I. Allegro con brio?
