When using "Library Tools | Convert Format | Windows Media" to change flac to wma (CBR, VBR or Lossless) it's only possible to convert one file. 

Any subsequent attempts result in a fail, leaving a Temporary Convert File in the target directory. 

Restarting MC19 allows one more successful conversion before failing again.

My Windows 8.1 machine doesn't even want to encode to WMA but instead reports a missing codec.

We'll investigate.  I don't believe WMA is a great format choice for most uses, so you might try a more open format.

Thanks for that.  I agree about the choice of codec but, unfortunately, my car stereo has a choice of mp3 or wma. 

From experience wma produces the better results although mp3 obviously works as a fall-back.

I'm also having this same issue where the conversion from FLAC to WMA fails immediately on a Vista machine.  Unlike, the other user who reported this problem I have not had any success converting a file to WMA.  I have Toyota and Honda vehicles and for both of these cars WMA VBR is the best sounding format supported.

As a workaround, you might try MP3 VBR or 320Kbps.  WAV might also be supported.

Fixed: WMA encoding was not working properly since build 19.0.34.

It traced back to this change:
Internal: Made usage of COM opt-in instead of opt-out for worker threads.  Please report any issues.

WMA is all COM based, which is unique compared to other encoders.
