trying to buy, can't connect
« on: March 07, 2002, 12:42:09 pm »

When I try to buy Media Jukebox I get a message that says Winsock error, can't connect to Buy Button server, Error 10006--I've never had any other problems getting around the Internet or stuff like that.  I'd like to buy this, but it won't let me!  What should I do?

It's version 7.2.280.  I've got Pac Bell DSL.  No firewalls.  I'm just trying to get the Plus version for $24.95.  Thanks!

try downloading the MJ8 Beta listed here in the forum "Build 222" and see if that helps

there has been some changes and fixes in the buy button, and it may help.

Also, if you're running XP you may have a firewall engaged that you don't know about. When setting up the internet connection it's very easy to let the default firewall get enabled. I can't remember just now how to check/disable it so let us know if you're running XP.

You could also try purchasing from a different computer and then backup an "rrg" file and restore it on the other computer.
