Why does my 96K files play at 48K not matter what I do?

Why does my 96K files play at 48K not matter what I do? Nothing I have tried in DSP will play 96K at 96K..  :(

I have found that if you have the DSP settings set to "No Change" and the DAC cant play the sample rate then the DAC downsamples to the
nearest sample rate, also if this happens JRiver seems to rewrite the DSP settings, setting them all to the downsample rate.  I have got around this by setting the DSP settings to the actual sample rate required.  e.g. 44.1 to 44.1, 48 to 48, 96 to 96 rather than using the no change settings. I discovered this after playing a 192 K track using my DAC which is only capable of 96K on USB. At worked for me so might be worth a try.
