Keyboard shortcut for pasting album art from clipboard
« on: November 14, 2013, 12:55:19 pm »

Is there already one? Couldn't find it on the wiki list of hot keys.

I tried following these instructions (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/User_Defined_Global_Keyboard_Shortcuts) to create my own and got lost at the point where I have to actually write the command.

Any ideas?

I think you want MCC_COVER_ART_GET_FROM_CLIPBOARD, which is MCC 23042.

Here's the list:

Thank Matt. Unfortunately I have no idea how to map that command to a keyboard shortcut, say alt + v. Seems complicated! Maybe I'll just let this sit as a feature request for the next time you guys have nothing better to do.  ;)

Thanks.

In the wiki page for global shortcuts is a description of which file to create (...\Custom Resources\Resource.xml).  Quit MC, Create this file as per the description there, and add a line:

<Entry Key="Alt;V" Command="23042" Param="0" TranslateFlags="17"  Global="0" />

and then start MC.

Thanks for your help, MrC. I tried that and it doesn't seem to be working. Also, alt+V is already in use, so I tried editing the line you wrote with a a few different entry keys that I can hit with my left hand. No dice.

I've saved the Resource.xml file to the following path: C:\Program Files (x86)\J River\Media Center 19\Data\Custom Resources\Resource.xml

After I added the new command in notepad, I saved Resource.xml and replaced the original file. I just "saved as" and used the default ANSI encoding option.

I tested out the shortcut entry I posted above (except I used Alt;Shift;V), and it works fine in Standard View.   Is that where you are trying it?
