Does v. 19 sound better than v. 17? (I do FLAC files/WASAPI Event Style.)

In terms of audio-only playback, MC18 added playback of SACDs as ISO files.

MC19 added playback of SACDs and DSD files directly in DSD format without conversion.

MC19 also added memory playback after uncompression.

The last one may or may not be audible to you, depending on your system.  Double blind tests indicate that the weaker your PC, the more audible is that feature.

I only do (can afford) CD's. As for my computer, it's a 3 year old laptop - connected up to a decent sound system.

v19 has a 30 day free trial. You can run it beside v17 without causing any problems.
