Search bar persistency

Is there a way I can avoid the annoying behavior of search bar loosing search text entry and search results when changing categories?

I use search bar all the time but it is terrible to have to reenter search text all the time when I change categoris, screens, etc.

Use back to return and the search, scroll, etc. is preserved.

You can also use another tab to browse other categories.
