Look Up Photo Locations From GPS EXIF Data
« on: November 17, 2013, 02:53:30 pm »

In iOS's Photos app, I can have a really nice view that shows where photos were taken, which when combined with [Date] can auto-generate very nice "albums" without having to do any work.

I want to add a pane or category to my Photos views that gives, automatically, things like Chicago, IL and Sydney, Australia.  MC can read the GPS coordinates, but they're basically useless.

Oh, and while you're at it, the "Locate on Google Maps" function is broken.

I use Geosetter to populate iptc country, city, state based on lat/lon coordinates. I've made some views in MC which display these nicely (by splitting the Places tag).

Geosetter looks up places using Geonames

Of course, I'd prefer if all this were integrated in MC...

Can you automate this part?
