Playback with external CUE files.

External CUE for flac and ac3 are not playing back.  Get "Something wrong with playback...".

Just take an ac3 or flac file with external CUE file, import and try to play it.

I can confirm this behavior for a bose soundlink. I use two playback zones: one is the bose, which only works in 48k mode, the other is the 631xESB/632xESB High Definition Audio Controller, which works fine in 44.1k and 48k. So, I think, it depends at sound device and / or driver used. On the same OS, I run Windows7 in a VMWare environment together with MC17 and I don't need to convert 44.1 to 48 (using the same usb-stick).

Sorry about the ALT-GR. It might have gotten lost during our server trouble.
Most of the changes involving missing functions were small. For example, I couldn't click on a song title in a list to get a song to play but now I can.
It's hard to know what all this encompasses there were quite a lot of those missing functions that were used in a lot of places.
The big missing features like, browse, C&P, rip support, etc are all going to take some time.

As far as sample rates are concerned, the default and pulse options are likely constrained by the system default sample rate.
This is usually fixed at one particular value.
When you talk directly to the device you will have more options (limited only by the device) but of course that means there can be conflicts with other programs/system functions that do the same.
We are doing nothing at all tricky to open the sound device. We set the sample rate (as one parameter) and if the open call fails, that's the end of it.

Ah, perfect. I didn't realize this.

The ALSA default was set to Nvidia HDMI which is unused on this system. I managed to change the default to the analog output the Xonar provides and figured I might as well change MC to Default, but then it was constrained to 24-bits 48kHz.

I've changed MC output device back to front:CARD=ST,DEV=0 and it plays everything natively at 32-bits again.

I've not tried this, but for people who need or want to use default and are looking to improve the quality, here's a nice thread that discusses the default resampler and how to change it to a better one. It's from 2006 though but might give some leads on where to look.

They seriously gimp day to day use of MC, especially nr. 19 is infuriating.

If you guys are maintaining a bug list, you really should add the distro/shell being used too, so the development team has a better idea where to look. I have a new report, tooltips can sometimes appear distorted and large (see attachment). Here's my current bug list...

1. Ubuntu/Unity: You can't lock the running instance icon to the Unity dash so it'll stay in position (and reuse the locked icon) when closed, requiring you to have a second icon in the dash to open MC from the Unity dash.
2. Ubuntu/Unity: Icon in the Unity dash/task switcher is smaller and blurry compared to the normal icon.
3. Ubuntu/Unity: When you click on the Manage last.fm account > Connect to last.fm account... link, the default web browser with the authorize request is not launched (but the Information dialog telling you to press OK after authorizing appears correctly).
4. Ubuntu/Unity: Using the On Disk (external) menu item under Locate doesn't do anything (doesn't load up Nautilus to that location).
5. Ubuntu/Unity: The System Volume slider doesn't work - always shows as low volume even though the volume isn't actually low. However changing it to Internal Volume displays volume correctly.
6. Ubuntu/Unity: Options > Tree & View, when clicking on Select font... nothing happens.
7. Ubuntu/Unity: The Browse button when trying to add a folder via media import doesn't do anything. You can workaround this by manually typing in the path yourself.
8. Ubuntu/Unity: Copy/Paste hotkeys don't work.
9. Ubuntu/Unity: Copy/Paste right click menus don't do anything.
10. Ubuntu/Unity: Tooltips can sometimes appear too large and distorted.

Just an FYI, we don't use the ALSA re-sampler since we think DSP studio is better.
We explicitly open the device (whichever you select) with re-sampling disabled.

And if that is so (which is my understanding) wouldn't changing the resampler (dmix?) improve the quality? Or is that mixer independent from the resampler discussed in that thread?

You might understand it better than me. I think the disabling of the re-sample when using the default device has a pretty fuzzy meaning.
What I'm guessing it means is when the default system rate is say 48k and you use the default device, the hardware is being talked to at 48k.
In MC, you'd want to then configure DSP studio to do the re-sampling. For other apps in the system, I assume they open the default device with the re-sample flag set so they can send to it at any sample rate which would then use the system re-sampler.

Saving and loading views isn't working as expected.

I saved a view, the path looks like this:
/home/username/.jriver/Media Center 19/Library/Saved Views\My View (1).jvi

The backslash isn't a typo, that's one thing, but files in that folder never show up on Load View. I saved a view but also when I copy saved views from my other machine they won't show up.
