I know we can 'rip' a video's audio to create an audio only file. But it might be a fun, and convenient feature to have to override the video of a video file and replace it with a visualisation such as J River's own, a Sound Spectrum one or Milkdrop2. Obviously best used with music videos, if you don't care for the visuals so much, and haven't ripped the audio yet/don't want to. Could this be possible in theory at least?

You can do this today if you set 'Media Type' in the library to 'Audio' instead of 'Video'.

Then playback flows through the audio engine, meaning you can use visualizations.

The ability to 'hot switch' during playback could be neat, but it's sort of complicated because the video engine doesn't currently expose visualization data at all.

The workaround you suggest is painless enough for the odd occasion one might use this feature. Thanks.
