Ubuntu 13.10 x64 - how to install?
« on: November 24, 2013, 10:33:03 am »

I've searched, and read a few posts, but they all discusses some issues with the installation, but no follow ups which 'resolved' the issues mentioned.

So, I'm wondering if it's possible to install on Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit, and if so, how do I get started?  If not, what can I do to help (I currently have VERY little Linux experience, so my help would be limited to providing feedback to someone telling me what to do :))

Did you try to follow the 64-bit installation guide?

I'd asume its similar to installing on Debian. I think its all quite straightforward to be honest (and I'm only into Debian for like 3 weeks now  :P).

Anyway, open a Terminal and give it a try and if something fails, make sure you give full details of the commands you issued and error messages returned.

The easy way to do it is from the Terminal...

sudo apt-get install lame xfonts-75dpi xfonts-100dpi libcurl3 libasound2 libx11-6 lib32stdc++6 libc6

Then...

sudo dpkg -i [path to the MC package]

Just drag and drop the .deb file to parse the MC package path, or manually type it in. Then you should be all set. :)
