I changed to MC19 today and Gizmo works great for me now on my phone and Samsung Tab.
However when playing DVD .vob files I don't get subtitles.
I have set "always show subtitles" and default to "Dutch".

But I only get subtitles playing my .mkv files. Is that correct or should I get subtitles when playing .vob files?

I read about the same problem but that was in MC18 and the solution was playing through MX player.
I don't want to get into that sort of things since I don't want to mess up MC19/Gizmo.
