JRiver Skins

I'd like to see a better range of skins. JRiver has come a long way, but i don't see this reflected graphically. IMHO Noire and Purity would be the closest to decent pick of the skins, the rest seem very outdated. I'd like to see a more flat stylish windows 8 metro style skins, less 'lolly' 3D looking.

Metrox would be great, if you could see the menus and toolbar items.

I was also thinking of something like the MediaMonkey Melon skin (http://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/browse/item/mellon-skin)

They're just hidden (hover on them to show the menus). However, I believe you can modify the skin files to show the menu, will need to look into that a little bit.

I noticed the hovering behavior but it' still a bit awkward finding an icon.

I don't know much about creating/modifying skins but it's something I want to learn more about.

Ah, if you go into the skin's directory there's a folder called visible_toolbar - just drag the main.xml file inside and override the one in the main skin folder then voila, menus are visible after restarting MC. I've also modified the MetroX and Modern Cards skins for the minimize/maximize/restore/close buttons found on Windows 8.1. Works perfectly. :D

If you want, I can PM you a link of MetroX modified with menus visible and the Windows 8.1 icons added. :)

Thanks, I already figured out the menu visibility.  I'd love to get your mod with the Win 8.1 buttons - thanks.

I also changed the PLAYERBAR>Display>StatusWeight to 150 - Much better.

Nice skins, especially the MetroX.
If I could make a suggestion, increased font size for the Now Playing info/Spectrum analyzer display at the top. I use higher DPI in windows display properties for my samsung TV. Noire and Purity font size is perfect.
