when I try to record music coming into the PC via the sound card using jukebox after a couple of seconds I get the following message any ideas?

Reboot your computer.
If you've done that since installing MJ, try Uninstall then Reinstall.
If that doesn't work, try to redownload the file and reinstall.
I say all this with confidence because that very thing (line-in recording) is working for me even as we speak.
Sometimes Windows misses things during install, sometimes things are left out during download due to all sorts of extraneous things.
I am assuming you have either the official release (7.2) or the latest Beta (8.0.217).
I was having problems with recording with two Betas back. Not any more.
