J River Equalizer question...
« on: December 15, 2013, 09:03:40 pm »

I am using a pair of QSB speakers on my pc. They are powered by the USB bus and the audio signal also travels along that bus bypassing the soundcard. Can I install and configure J River Media Center in such a way that it will enable me to equalize any signal routed to these speakers? I hope someone can assist...many thanks!

I reckon you can. Don't believe me. Check for relevant info from the Wiki?

http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Audiophile_Info

Also, from standard view, navigate to:
  Tools > Audio > Settings > DSP & output format > Equalizer

You could try out the pre-sets or configure your own. Try them out on your system and listen to what your ears tell you. Nothing beats your own empirical testing on your own equipment.

Enjoy the journey..  ;)

Astromo I appreciate your response but apparently it can't be done. There is no way to activate the equalizer when listening to Youtube videos for instance. Thanks anyway. My search continues.

There is a way to equalize streaming sound; use the loopback function. It enables all sounds that you play with your pc to be routed through MC19. You can check out this http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=84850.0 for a little more about it.
