SPDIF noise [Solved]

I realise 'from what I have read' this is a Windows/PC issue not JR, but I was wandering if there is a work round to stop the white noise produced after 5 minutes of none play through spdif.

Ideally I would like to leave my amp on over the festive period.  :)

After further investigation it appears to be the spdif DAC at fault, nothing to do with my PC.
