Hi,
wouldn't it be good to add 'Average Album Rating' as a standard library field in MC? I think that! :-)
Now I can't find an easy and correct way to sort my albums on the average rating value.

I can see an album rating as a field and a song rating as a field but a standard average album rating ?

euh well the simple way .... create a new field and rate the album selecting all tracks   

but probably what you want (?) is that jriver takes all of your ratings per song and averages this for you?! Well I think you could create a user "expression field"  for the math http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Expression_Language#Math.28.E2.80.A6.29:_Evaluates_a_given_mathematical_formula and loading it as a variable maybe with the new stacking function ? (not really sure how to use this yet  ) good luck
