This problem playing audio CDs that I just reported against 211 earlier today is now even worse in 214 - in Mini-Me mode, if I press Play or Next/Previous, MJ8 silently goes away - no GPF box, hence no debug info. 100% repeatable. I cannot reproduce this problem in Mega-Me mode.

------------------
Trying to playback an audio CD while in mini-me mode causes MJ8 to skip through the CD tracks until it "catches" on one and starts playing there. Selecting a track in the playlist window will usually cause the same thing to happen.
This is difficult to reproduce in mega-me mode, although I've done it a couple of times. It always happens in mini-me, though.

This happens with either analog or digital CD playback. Once playback "catches" on some track, it seems to proceed through the remaining tracks without problems.

Multimedia keys are still broken in 8.0.214; same as previous versions.

Multimedia keys work fine when MJ has focus.

When MJ does not have focus:
- Play/pause button "blips" playback when MJ is playing, and starts Windows Media Player
- Stop button causes MJ to GPF
- Prev/Next track buttons work fine.

Microsoft Internet Keyboard Professional, USB, driver 2.0.300.0.

dwex,

What version are you using Next Page ? Your system info states 210 and 211, bug reports are about 214.

It would be nice if you didn't have to go back and reset all you file associations and other settings when you download the update.

When I select many tracks in a find result, and right-click the Artist field to rename, MJ freezes and I have to close the program.

-Bugs for Media Jukebox 8.0.214 Beta-

Ever since turning Track Info into a Visualization plugin, Track Info's no longer display scroll bars when they need to.

mini-me automatically shows Track Info pages instead of visualizations, even though the typical mini-me display window is too small to really show a Track Info template. Note - this is not a request to disable viewing Track Info from mini-me. This is a request for some sort of skin-specific option to either allow Track Info display, or disallow it. Any way of getting a tag added to Metamorphis?

The right click menu doesn't show up from the system tray icon when MJ is in mini-me unless it's also minimized.

Is there any way that the viz engine could not pause for a second when switching plugins (during a Cycle for instance). I thought at one point it was blending from one to another, but it hasn't been for a while now.

It wouldn't be so bad except that a Cycle switches so often (with no way of controlling that!), and it really breaks up the groove. Next Page

The left-right arrows for choosing vis plugins on the splitter doesn't work if a Cycle mode is chosen within a vis plugin folder.

My Freshman English professor would have a fit if she ever read that sentence. Next Page

You know how there's Planetarium, Collage, etc.? If you choose Cycle within one of those, then the Vis Plugin chooser arrow thingies (darn, I was doing so good with this attempt!) won't let you scroll through any other vis plugins.

Thanks for fixing the playlist drag and drop, works fine now.

I still have a problem with mp3's I've added from mp3 cd's. 7.2 adds cds as the cd drive letter eg H: but 8beta gives it a unique cd key eg (0x38B82550):   Thats fair enough, although it does make identifying which cd you need to insert tricky unless add a description. The more serious problem is if yu load a playlist that has any tracks that are on an offline cd, it stops playing and locks MJ forcing me to kill it. In 7.2 any offline tracks are simply skipped. I've even tried making playlists and smart lists for "OFFLINE" and added an offline category to all tracks on cd, then filtered not to play "oFFLINE", but that is also ignored.

Has noone else had this problem?

Menus go off screen (2nd monitor), unviewable. ie: tray icon, right click player window. (1st 1024x768 (0,0); 2nd 800x600 (1024,0))
MJ is thinking the screen height is 768 when it is only 600. Other programs don't do this.

Album Artist (Rename/F2/DragNDrop) unusable when using with "Type". Type/Album Artist/Album. >> Tools->Convert Format

Auto-Size Bars not saving setting. Visualization not resized to new screen area.

Lastplayed displays songs not in the rule. (lastplayed=<=300 shows all songs recently played)

Internal cover art is linked to temp directory (mp3/id3v2) on some files. Haven't pinpointed it yet.
When using copy/paste, copying an internal image and then pasting to a new file causes the image to be linked to a non-exsistant file (cover art/artist/album.jpg)
When saving, it rewrites all files displayed in properties for all albums (even ones not selected/changed), causing every file to be linked to that same type of unknown file (artist/ablum). Internal art is destroyed for all files opened in properties.

~a returns all non-album specified tracks for a track without an album entry.

Replay Gain values are not saved to track when mp3 doesn't originally have an id3v2 tag yet MJ writes this tag when saving.

DIBENG.DLL crashes from last build are still with us. Just aborted while playing the seventh or eighth file in a sequence selected randomly from the library. Visualizations on and Cycle>Next Pagelanetarium selected. System info:

PS to above.

Upgraded to 8.0.214 in the office. When streaming, it produced the same DIBENG.DLL abort. Very different system here:

Don't know why the free memory is so low - need to talk with our IT personnel. Cld that be a factor?

Shotgun-

"...Just this release, I burned a CD and when I attempt to play it back; the system crashes..."

I've burned through most of a stack of 100 cd's in the last few weeks (on several machines/OS's) and haven't experienced this type of problem. I'm not saying there isn't a bug somewhere, it's just not easy fixing something you can't reproduce. This one's complicated because it could be a burning problem, a playback problem, a CDDB problem, a hardware or driver problem on your system, or something else entirely. Let's take this to a different thread ("MJ 8 burns a CD and then crashes on playback") and see if we can sort it out.

Thanks,

"MJ Crashes every time I hit "Copy" after electing to Rip a CD..."

This will be fixed in the next build. Also broken were digital CD playback and track lookup on new CD's. Win95/98/ME systems were affected by this bug.

* Sound is scratchy, poppy, varying in speed (like it misses a beat), when playing a audio cd using digital playback.
Using analog playback it seems ok. I have tested this in the latest 5 or 6 beta's and it has been the same each time.
Also, I have played the same cd's in other applications (windows media player & EAC) and they have both played the cd's
perfect.

* In Options, Device settings, select ASPI (when being in IDE), click OK, and then click PLAY. MJ locks up.
After reopening MJ the setting was saved in ASPI. When wanting to change the setting from ASPI to either AUTOCONFIG
or IDE, after hitting ok on that change, MJ crashes.

After playing around in those settings, MJ is now back in IDE setting, but crashes after a few seconds of playing a audio cd.

When ever I adjust the headings such as; Name, Genre.  Vertical lines are drawn on the screen. The lines don't line up with any of the headings. The only way to remove them is using the refresh button.

My Video Card is a Matrox Mystique 220.

Auto size columns and show grid lines is OFF in setting options

I'm getting an awful lot of crashes with MJ today (latest beta).  Always in Mega-me, no visualizations, playlist section of playing now taking entire content view.  I know nothing about this sort of thing, but is it possible there is some sort of conflict with IE?  I'm asking because I had a total freeze up that required a hard boot two times today (it NEVER crashes--Win2K), and all times I had MJ open, and one or two browswer windows (e-mail too, I think).  When everything crashed, it was showing me that it had to close a number of browser windows I had closed way earlier in the day.  Anyway, I'm not blaming MJ, of course, but it is strange that the program crashes on playback so often, and then these two system freeze ups...

MJ played all night last night, with no crashes. But it was using a vis plugin I made that used the spectrum analyzer and two transforms.

Today, I left MJ playing while cycling through all vis plugins. I got home and MJ had crashed. I could see that the fireball vis had been showing.

Songs being played were identical in both cases, MEGA-ME in the first case, full screen in the second.

Both times vis studio was set up to use DirectX, desired framerate 85fps, and scaling set to 2.00.

Actually since the last couple of builds, the computer would just hard restart. Never happened before and MJ is always opened at the time. I'm not saying it's MJ, but I never had this problem before. IE has been the same.

One time either switching tracks, stopping, starting..can't remember which, the computer restarted. Again, not blaming MJ but there is a problem somewhere that hasn't been here for the last month (since xp re-installed).
