i see dozens of images for some artists(ryan adams, the cure) but none for others(tom waits for example)

how to add to this??

If you have particular images you are interested in, you could upload them to HTBackdrops.com. 

To control where the images are coming from (and maximize the amount of images displayed), go to Tools -> Options -> Theater View -> Appearance -> Theme -> Online media slideshow and make sure all selections are checked.

Currently, Google Images is not working, but it will be fixed in the next build:  http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=83590.msg593540#msg593540  That should increase the number of images displayed.

Also, check the Artist tag on your files to make sure the Artist is spelled correctly with no leading or trailing characters.  Tom Waits should be pulling plenty of images from Last.fm.
