Windows Server 2008 R2 - Thumbnail captured images - error

Windows Server 2008 R2- Thumbnails captured from videos are rendering into 2 columns of 4 mosaic tiles pieces. layout (1357,2468) instead of one column (12345678) see attachment 'Capture.jpg'. The images render OK in windows 7. Is there a fix or work around (apart from creating my own thumbnail images).?
