HOw can I burn an MP3 CD?
« on: September 01, 2003, 10:43:23 am »

When I try to burn MP3 files to a CD, MJ 8.0.399 converts them back to .WAV files.

I have tried that & it burns the CD as a straight AUDIO CD, 74 minutes max. :P

I want to put 10 hours of music on the CD by burning the music in MP3 format.

My car plays MP3.

How do I burn an MP3 disc?

? ? :-/ :) ;D

hey boo,  it is done the way we are saying to do  mjb should ask you what format of cd you wish to burn when you select the songs from the playlist and send them to the device ?? ( whatever your burner letter is)     all you do is select the data option by clicking on the spot for it.

if you are doing that. and it is still makeing  audio cd's  and not putting the mp3's on then check the mjb settings for the cdburner  and see if it says  decode mp3's directly to cdrom.

if that is checked then it might be making them in to wav's because of that.?

also  it will tell you the 74 min's because that is the cdrom you have set in the burner.

but  on mp3's  in the data cdroms  will fill up the mb's of the song  which is 650 mb's on the 74 min cdr's  and in data form you can get up to 10 hours of mp3 music by the fact that the cdr is mesured with the mb's and not the time the song plays.

because in mp3 format  one minute of song will be just about 1 mb.  and in wav format it is 10 mb's for one minute of song.

so the smaller the file size for the mp3's  the longer the cdrom plays.  but too small of file and the song sounds bad.

i use  256 as the middle on the vbr mp3's   and i  got 5 hours and 55 minutes on the data mp3 cdrom.
