Detecting New Drive Problems
« on: January 26, 2014, 08:29:53 am »

Hello all - Ive been using MC17 for awhile and had problems at first with using 2 CD drives. I had to have the same model drive or it always detected the second drive and labeled it as the same model as the first drive even though it was a different brand. Well now one drive failed and I had to order another drive. My first drive is a Samsung and my new second drive is a Lite-on. If both drives are plugged in the labels them as the same brand and model. If I only plug in 1 drive it gives it the correct name and model. Im running Windows 7 64 bit. Both drives are hooked up with Sata. Any other program picks up both drives with the correct model and brand so Im positive its a MC17 problem. I thought maybe they would have fixed it but I guess not. Does anybody know how to fix this? The problem is I cant burn to the other drive when MC is detecting it as the wrong brand / model.

Make sure you have the last build of MC17 installed.   It's here:

I have the latest version. I was thinking about upgrading to MC19 but I want to make sure that this issues is fixed. I can't even rip from the other drive in MC. Works great in all other programs though.

I'm sorry, but I don't recognize that problem.  It's free to try MC19.

Here is the screen that shows the problem. Lists both drives as the same.

OK so I installed MC19 and it shows both drives correctly. Anyway I can get MC17 fixed so I dont have to spend $50 again to make it work?
