"Integer" and "Core" Audio
« on: January 29, 2014, 08:48:46 am »

I would like to know the inner workings of core and integer. Though MC supports Integer with OSX 10.9 and above, I kept 10.6.8 as, unlike Lion and Mtn Lion, it supports "integer".
First off, I believe MC runs native 64 bit with Core Audio., and it's limitations. Am I right to believe Integer mode side-steps Core Audio, or passes thru in a "minimal" way ? I've enabled Integer mode, and though playback works, I suspect MC defaults to Core Audio under 10.6.8 ? Having been set strait, perhaps some can make an argument for updating my OS.

You need to run 10.9.x to use integer mode with MC. Mavericks (10.9) does support integer mode.

As to your other question, John T discussed it in this topic:
