Toggle buttons in mini-me skins?

Has anyone managed to make a working toggle button on a mini-me skin? I'm trying to hack this to work by having two buttons in the same position, and changing the state between StateHide and StateUp in OnButtonPress events to simulate the toggling behavior. But the button never redraws properly, as far as I can tell.
