i want to get tv stations through the PC, but dont know what I need.

do I need an antenna or?? also what sort of tv card/tuner do I need?

I have one of these for a desktop PC (two actually, but the other one is just backup now):

It does both ATSC (over the air digital and clear QAM on cable), as well as old analog NTSC tuning (only useful now for cable).  It works well and has been quite reliable.  I don't use it with MC's TV support currently because I have some special needs there, but I've tested it and it works fine.

It has dual tuners, so it can do 2 channels at a time simultaneously, in any configuration (ATSC + ATSC, ATSC + NTSC, or NTSC + NTSC).  I'm pretty happy with it.

I don't know if they make a USB version, as mine is an internal PCIe card.  They have a whole line of USB tuners though, if you're trying to do this from a laptop or something:

Note, for over-the-air signals, you need a tuner, which means you need the RG6 coax connector to the device, not HDMI.  The output from your PC isn't relevant.  We wanted to know what the input into your PC would be, and for OTA, that'd be coax from the antenna.
