It's pretty slow getting these GUI fixes because there's not much in the way of good examples of what we are trying to do with our only requirement being very low level access. Really nobody is doing that any more.
The other issue is that MC is coded to the behavior of Windows and Mac and the X11 low level behavior is quite different.
Finally working in the linux dev environment is clunky and slow compared to Visual Studio and XCode.

Back on topic  , I'm afraid it's not completely working. Half way there I suppose

Although the tooltip no longer blocks keyboard input, I still can't click to select whatever is below a tooltip.

I didn't take it bad, I just thought it would be good to let people know why the GUI stuff is going pretty slow.
Did a lot of messing around with the filesystem calls today, trying to fill out the missing functionality.
The next build will have working library automatic backups and handle some of the differences between reserved characters (: \  etc).
