SSD issues??
« on: September 19, 2013, 10:44:21 am »

As I upgrade my hard disks, I would like to know if there are any issues with the use of SSDs for the primary drive or with drives for storage.

Thanks!

Though some have had problems, SSD's are great.  They may work best as the OS drive, with media stored on mechanical drives.

840 Pro as an OS drive here, no issues at all.

Thanks.  What were the issues that were seen previously?

My two PCs, both running MC, both have SSDs as their only drives and I've had no issues. My media files are currently stored on a NAS with hard disks but I eventually want to replace those with SSDs too and use the hard disks for backups. I'm using Crucial SSDs.

I now use a samsung evo 1 tb. I split it 250 for the OS and programs with the rest for my music library . This is working fine.

My first post so Hi everyone!  ;D

I'm contemplating using an SSD as my system disc and found this article useful. http://howto.cnet.com/8301-33088_39-57545421/digital-storage-basics-part-1-internal-storage-vs-memory/ SSD's are covered in part 4.
