Unable to reinstall MC 18 (I have MC 19 too)

(1/2) > >>

Richheart:
For some reason my mac deleted my licenses (we had a power failure but I see no other changes on the computer). I was able to reinstall 19 (which I did first... I don't know why).
When I sent the request for the license reinstall for 18, I keep getting invalid license.
Should I be using the code for 19? I purchased each separately (the 19 was an upgrade purchase).

JimH:
The version installed must match the license.  Here's more:

Richheart:
Yes I did all that.
Used the MJR I have version 18 installed, I used the key for 18 (As I said, I also have 19 installed and was able to install the - different - key for that).
So now what? :(

Richheart:
Having scoured the wiki, it says I should be installing a current version of MC (i.e. 19?). Of course I am here trying to restore 18 as well. Perhaps here's the rub?
Is there anything at all in 18 which is not available in 19? If not, perhaps I can abandon 18 as I have lost the settings that were the main advantage of having both 18 and 19.

JimH:
A link to old versions is in this thread:

You could back up your library in MC18 and restore it, including settings, or settings only, in MC19.  MC18 made automatic backups.
