re-sample audio output?
« on: February 22, 2014, 05:20:35 am »

I have MediaCentre installed on one PC and control it with JRemote.

I'd like to be able to re-sample all audio output to 24-bit PCM (unless it's already 24-bit PCM). Is this possible and if so, how do I achieve it?

I have looked at DSP output format. This allows me to change the sample frequency but not the bit depth.
I have looked at DNLA servers in media network menu and think I have configured appropriate settings. However, no joy and I'm guessing it's because I'm using the 'local' mediacentre player and server and therefore DNLA is bypassed.

Am I on the right track?

Media Center should already be outputting the highest bit-depth that your hardware supports.

Tools > Options > Audio Device > Device Settings is where you can set it manually.
