Does JRiver include standard DVR functionality when coupled with an InfiniTV4.

I mean functionality like:
Record shows on show schedule as defined within the guide
Record First Run and/or Repeats
Keep x number of recorded shows

The way I understand the InfiniTV device is that it acts in place of a cable box to unencrypt your providers channels , assuming a cable card is inserted.  So at that point would MC see all channels you are paying for as unencrypted (HBO, Discovery, History, etc...) and therefore allow for DVR functionality on those channels?

It is my understanding that some of the "premium" channels like HBO have special copy protection unlike the standard cable channels and will not work in MC but I don't have cable so someone else will have to confirm.

The confusion is probably in the verbiage of "but only for unencrypted channels". The device will decode the encryption for most cable providers, however there are flags in the stream itself that for some reason must be adhered to.

Premium channels such as HBO (and I think some sports channels as well) tend to have the copy once flag (or similar). Channels with that flag are not able to be viewed with most devices and DVRs. The workaround for those channels that most use is a cable box connected to an Hauppauge HD PVR.

Also, generally, if you have a valid HBO subscription, you can get episodes from the Internet on demand ("HBO Go"), so you don't need DVR functionality for those IF you have sufficient Internet bandwidth, etc.
