What exactly happens when you try to play a 5.6 Mhz file ?

And what renderer are you trying to play on? Is it the MC internal "Player", or are you trying to Play To an UPnP / DLNA renderer device? (And if so what?)

Thanks for your answers.

I used my notebook (running on Window 7.0) with USB connection to my DAC (Meitner DAC 1) .  The DAC plays 2.8 DFF files correctly but fails to play 5.6MHz DFF files.
The jriver player had already been set to 2xDSD (Dop or Native) in the Output Encoding of the DSP.
The jriver cannot play the file with the following message:
Something went wrong with playback.
Details:
Playback could not be started on the output 'WASAPI' using the format 'DoP 5.6MHz 2ch'.

This output format may not be supported by your hardware. You can use DSP Studio to change the output to a compatible format.

Also, make sure that your system has a valid sound playback device that it is properly configured in playback options.

Please advice. Thanks.

The MA-1 is not a DSD DAC if I read the specs right.

MA-2 has "• DSD streaming over USB (DoP 1.0 specification) "

Not ma1.

Should should disable the DSD settings in MC, and any DSD files will be transcoded to PCM on the fly, and your MA1 does upsampling...
