webgizmo help please
« on: March 29, 2014, 03:27:36 pm »

Hi all,
I've just downloaded  MC19 trial version with a view to buying it if I can get it to work--therein lies my problem---having looked at loads of threads on here, I cannot get webgizmo set up to work from an android device, namely a galaxy 3. The problem is that the threads assume a level of knowledge/vocabulary I just do not have- Would appreciate it if somebody could take the time to talk me through it.

Up to now, I have got myself an access code, entered it to the website (which appears only intermittently) but then it just says 'website not found' I looked this up but a thread on the same subject was solved by changing the library from 'main' to 'shared' or something similar, but I cannot even see how that is done.

help appreciated!

Which website?  http://www.jriver.com/webgizmo.html or your local machine ip address?

Also, since you have an android device, you might try gizmo (it is an android app that may be easier to setup)

Hi Alex,
thanks for the quick reply!
It was not the website you mention, I'm not even sure which one it was, I found it by following a thread on the same issue- I'm trying to find it again now--- I have got GIZMO working, but the functionality is really limited, can only change tracks, not disc, unless I'm badly mistaken. I'll add the website I used to input the access code once I've found it
cheers

Here is the web page I was directed to:
http://localhost:52199/
however, when I go to this from my laptop, It shows a number of options, however when I select webgizmo, it brings up gizmo (I think) I assume this is because I've set Gizmo up, however that is not what I really wanted.. Any ideas?
thanks

Sounds like you're after Gizmo for your android. Webgizmo can be used via android but there's an easier way.

1st off go here:
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Category:Frequently_Asked_Questions
Check out the topics there and note this for future reference. You'll find entries related to Webgizmo but take particular attention of:
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Gizmo

Grab the .apk from here:
http://www.jriver.com/install_gizmo.html
Load it to your android and work through the Wiki info.

All the best.

Installing from the Playstore would be best.
