Burn a CD from both .WAV & .MP3?
« on: February 18, 2002, 10:25:53 am »

Given that an MP3 is a lossy format and is not as good as the original WAV file, I'm wondering if I can do the following in MJ.  Say I want to create a 20-song CD from 5 MP3's and 15 WAV files, with the WAV files coming from CDs in my collection.  For the WAV files, I would not encode them to MP3 and then convert them back to WAV during the burn, but just do a simple copy of those 15 files from 15 different CDs.  Is this possible, or do I have to first encode all files and put them on the hard drive before burning?

Don't believe you can burn the WAV files directly from yr CDs, on the fly, but you can rip them as WAV files and reburn the WAVs. Check Options>encoding, open drop-down for Encoder, select Uncompressed Wave. When you're done burning, just delete the WAVs from yr drive if you don't want them there.
