I am using Windows 7 on a 64 bit system. I'm using it primarily in Theater mode on my television (monitor 2) to stream audio and photos and record and play TV.
I have been using mediaportal for several years and migrated to JRiver over the past few days. I've got it installed and it works well with a couple of glitches now and then which I'm guessing might be conflicts with leftover codecs. (I did a full uninstall of mediaportal -but I see some codecs I've accumulated over the years.)
The glitches are occasional sharp noises - pops - and playback of large recorded TV files are sometimes are erratic - starts at end and won't move back to beginning until I fiddle a bit.
Any feedback on migration from mediaportal would be appreciated (I suspect my problem may also be buffering issues), but, specifically, do I need to uninstall any of the following codecs?
xiph.org open codecs 0.85.17777
LAV Filters 0.59.1
DTS Connect Pack (Creative for my sound card)
Dolby Digital Live Pack (again Creative)
I've also install UMPLayer 0.98 - it may have come with codecs - I don't see a separate codec file.
Thanks - am loving the program! Can't believe the improvement in audio now that I've worked out the settings for my Yamaha RX-673 receiver!
