Wheezy, Gnome 3.  Since the 138 thread is locked, I'll post here.

If I click on a MediaCenter menu which drops down, then Alt-Tab away from the MediaCenter window, the menu persists in the same location on top of whatever other windows there are.  The only way to close the menu is to switch back to MediaCenter.

Hi,

when I click on the download link for release 19.0.141, I get a XML response as follows:

Code: [Select]
<Error><Code>AccessDenied</Code><Message>Access Denied</Message><RequestId>abc</RequestId><HostId>xyz</HostId></Error>

I'm also disappointed about the lack of information about using the registration code and .mjr file unter Linux. I've bought the Linux licence already in February. Then last wednesday I installed the 19.0.138 release and because I couldn't find any option to register the .mjr file, I tried the menu option "Install Key". After entering the registration key from the purchase email, MC told me that the program is registered. When starting MC again this morning, MC told me that it's not registered again and that there are 27 days left. So I repeated the procedure, and MC told me again that it's registered again ... And now, a few hours later, MC tells me again that it's not registered ...  ?

Then I saw the 19.0.141 link and that there should be an option to load the .mjr file. And I hoped that this would solve my problems. But this file isn't downloadable ...

As a result, I now have only 8 of 10 restores left due to the misleading "Install Key" option and the missing option to install the .mjr file under Linux  ?

PLEASE provide a downloadable 19.0.141 .deb file and a short explanation how to install the .mjr file under Linux. Thanks  :)

You can download the build now.

To use the registration with a file, go to a terminal window as your user (not root or sudo) and do

mediacenter19 /RegisterFromFile yourfile.mjr

Put in you mjr filename in place of yourfile.mjr
If it has spaces either rename it or put it in quotes.

Remember mjr files are temporary. If it's older than 10 days or so you need to get a new one from the restore page.

Licensing in this way isn't necessary unless you are running on an unsupported distro.

I'm afraid the registration is still not working for me.

I tried with a new file too. As my regular user I run:

mediacenter19 /RegisterFromFile MediaCenter19Linux-250890.mjr

The mjr file exists in the current directory, I renamed it to remove the spaces as its shown on the commandline above.

MediaCenter starts without any popups, but when I go to registration info, it says 21 days left. When I restart MC without the parameter, it pops up the trial message again.

I assume you are running it from the command line as the same user that it's running in the GUI (no sudo)?
You could PM me your registration key and .mjr and I could check it.

After trying the registration (unsuccessfully) a bunch of times, I noticed that my Machine Settings.ini file had a whole bunch of BuyButton entries.   Deleting the file and restarting MC allowed the registration to stick and I haven't had a problem since.

That's interesting.
Invalid entries are supposed to get removed.
InflatableMouse, can you check your Machine Settings.ini file?

I could not find any buybutton entries in my machines.ini file. When I removed it, MC said the trial period was over when trying to register it from the command line.

Yes, same user no sudo. I'll email you.

Thanks.

Same for me. The new /RegisterFromFile didn't work, neither with an existing Machine Settings.ini nor after deleting it.

Here's what worked for me: Deinstall MC19 -> Delete ~/.jriver folder -> Reinstall MC19 -> Enter the original registration code from the purchase email into MC19 (don't know how that menu item was named because since successful registration this menu entry doesn't appear any more).

Same is true for me. It counts down to 19 days now.

I checked the conversation between my pc and your server during registration. It seems like the server stopped talking to my pc!

We've discovered an issue with the registration that causes it to be lost if the network is not in a stable state (with IP address)  when MC is started.
This will be corrected in the next build shortly.
